Boise Watches As Teams Pass Them By

Oregon jumped Boise State in the AP. And while the AP isn't a portion of the BCS formula anymore, I believe that this is indicative of what will happen in the human polls that do factor in.

In fact, I have said it before...
What will end up happening this year is that during/after a succession of 'nobody' games from Boise (New Mexico State, Toledo, San Jose State, Louisiana Tech...), other highly ranked teams won't be playing 'nobody' games. And, they'll pass Boise in the standings. Impressive wins over other good teams make a difference in the moment, and the Broncos will be left out in the cold.
Yep, I just blockquoted myself.

It just goes to show that teams in Boise's position are caught in such a catch-22 that no matter what they try, the system doesn't allow for them to get their shot.

I've got more thoughts on this, but posting via an iPhone is a bit cumbersome. Plus, I haven't figured out how to add pictures this way, and I love pictures. So more on this, Alabama, and Les Miles in awhile.
